There are 8 founding members of the Middle Eastern Baseball Association, with all but one team having taken home the title. The league was founded in 2023, with Damascus taking home the inaugural trophy. This league is often seen as a stepping stone to Europe, with some top class players starting out in the Middle East.
- Baghdad Sunbirds – Iraq – 2 MEBA Titles
- Baghdad was, for many years, consider the least successful MEBA franchise, with only one finish in the top half of the table in the league’s first 10 seasons. That turned around in 2033 and 2034 when the Sunbrids won back-to-back titles, with a team record 48 wins in the 2034 season. Baghdad has recently returned to their uninspiring roots over the past couple seasons, but the Sunbirds can at least look back fondly at a terrific two-year run.
- Damascus Jasmine – Syria – 3 MEBA Titles
- The Jasmine may not have the most MEBA Titles, but they do currently hold the record for the best winning percentage among MEBA teams at 0.555. Damascus won the inaugural MEBA Title, and then won back-to-back in the 2029 & 2030 seasons. Now well over half a decade since the teams last title, and only one winning campaign out of the previous four, fans of the Jasmine are starting to grow restless, with many fans believing it is time for a change in leadership. Manager Jose Maya and GM Khaldun Yasar have been with the team since the 2034 season.
- Doha Warriors – Qatar – 2 MEBA Titles
- Now for the most successful team of the past half decade, the Doha Warriors have finished in either first place, or within one game of first place, each of the past four seasons. After finishing above 4th place only once in the team’s first 11 seasons, this current run of form is more than welcomed by the Doha faithful. One big reason for the sudden surge of success is outfielder Abdul-Khaliq Ma’mun. The Syrian played five seasons for Doha, winning the 2034 and 2035 MEBA MVP awards, and was then trade to the Naples Purple Warriors of the ECBL. Ma’mun holds the MEBA single season records for: Batting Avg, Slugging Pct, OPS, Total Bases, Home Runs, RBI, and WAR (putting up 6.03 WAR across 77 games in 2034).
- Dubai Renegades – United Arab Emirates – 2 MEBA Titles
- Jeddah Dust Devils – Saudi Arabia – 4 MEBA Titles
- Mosul Crunch – Iraq
- Riyadh Camels – Saudi Arabia – 1 MEBA Title
- Tehran Gophers – Iran – 1 MEBA Title
Legendary Players
- Wasim Arain
- Arain only spent one season in MEBA, in which he won the league MVP award, but it’s his success at the highest level of the sport which keeps him remembered. Arain retired with a career wRC+ of 156 across 1039 ECBL games. He is currently top 10 in all-time OPS in the ECBL
