Introduction to the World’s Baseball Leagues

The top flight leagues reside in Europe, with a four league promotion/relegation system. The European Championship Baseball League (ECBL) is the top flight league with the highest quality clubs and players in the world. The European Second League (ESL) follows the ECBL, with the European Third League (ETL) feeding into the ESL. Finally, League 4 (L4) finishes out the quartet, and was added on in 2034. These four leagues are the peak of the Baseball mountain, but there are many others that are necessary to create the foundation for said peak.

The next group of leagues to be introduced are all apart of the North American Baseball Association (NABA), a group of 5 leagues that compete in their own seasons, and then send their top two teams to compete in the NABA Championship. These five leagues are the Canadian Baseball League (CBL), the Mexican Baseball League (LMB), the Pacific Coast Baseball League (PCBL), the Great Lakes Baseball League (GLBL), and the Southern United States Baseball Association (SUSBA).

The final three professional leagues are all in the western hemisphere. The Japanese Professional League (JPL) is arguably the highest level league outside of Europe. The Middle Eastern Baseball Association (MEBA) is the only league that does not support a playoff format and awards the title to the best record in the regular season. Finally, the newest addition to non-European baseball is the Australian Baseball League (ABL).
